The Business and Support Specialist will drive business growth through client acquisition and retention, while ensuring compliance with Risk, AML/KYC, and FATCA policies.

Job Summary:

The Business and Support Specialist will be responsible for business retention and development via identification and solicitation of new and existing clients for deposit generation. The incumbent is required to perform significant volume of data analyses and initiate development of products and solutions that create client value. The job holder will also be responsible for analyzing and monitoring economic activity through market research for business opportunities and managing client information in compliance with all the Bank’s Risk, AML /KYC and FATCA policies and procedures. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Retention, Development and Client Experience:
    • Identify and onboard new clients specific to corporates, financial institutions and high to medium net worth individuals for deposit generation in TTD.
    • Maintain a regular Call Program for existing and prospective clients re new business retention and acquisition.
    • Prepare and execute presentations that augment the selling process as required, to both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Use consultative sales approach and support development of customer presentations/demos and sales proposals.
    • Develop and implement mid and long-term Sales and Wallet Penetration Strategy, Account Plan and Wallet Sizing detailing areas and size of opportunity in terms of revenues and drivers.
    • Manages the end-to-end sales process between all parties, including Account Officers, JEF processing Department and Treasury to ensure that the client receives excellent service at all levels of interaction.
    • Ensure that client feedback is escalated through necessary and relevant channels to achieve client satisfaction.
    • Proactively manage client’s expectations and align them with JMMB’s delivery by ensuring that products and services that match the client’s needs and expectations are sold/cross-sold.
    • Influence decision making around product and solutions development for the Trinidad market and collaborate in roll-out of new local/regional products to markets.
  • Data analytics and Maintenance:
    • Analyze Financial Market opportunities and initiate the development of appropriate product solutions to maximize client value.
    • Keep abreast of new developments in the market that may impact prospective clients and shares information, as required, to win the business and maintain existing portfolio.
    • Identify and adequately manage risks inherent in the sales process (i.e. market, compliance, legal, audit, regulatory).
    • Market trends, needs and competitive analysis, Market insight, industry direction and client need analysis.
    • Responsible for data retention under records management policy.
    • Add/Update all Client Relationship information on the Treasury Deal ticketing system (KYC Compliance Fields, Address, Contact)
    • Develop a rate sheet (MMR, T-Bill, Prime, Base, Deposit) on a quarterly basis or as required.
    • Submit all required documents needed for customer profiles creation by JEF’s processing department. 
  • Regulatory, Compliance and Treasury Support:
    • Serve as the Unit’s Business Continuity Coordinator and liaise with Risk stakeholders as and when necessary, in respect of this role.
    • Responsible for self- assessment and compliance controls.
    • Coordinator of all IA and External Audit related activity inclusive of liaising with Internal Audit and External Audit stakeholders.
    • Support at meetings such as ALCO 
  • Perform any other related duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications (Education & Certification):

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Economics/Management/ Finance or related field
  • Financial Modelling will be an asset.

Experience:

  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in a Treasury or treasury related environment of a financial institution of which three (3) years must be at a senior level.
  • Excellent understanding of Treasury, Foreign Exchange Markets, Money Market, Bond Trading, and the related risks
  • Extensive knowledge of the macroeconomic environment, financial instruments, and financial markets
  • Excellent knowledge of financial sector laws, regulations, ethics, and professional jargon. 

Other (Skills):

  • Sound financial research and data interpretation capabilities
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly identify opportunities to develop solutions with both short- and long-term orientation.
  • Creative and innovative thinking skills with the ability to identify business opportunities.
  • Strong influencing skills: ability to generate support and build consensus.
  • Must have a sharp business development focus and experience.
  • Expert in Excel, PowerPoint and Word as well as statistical software.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Proactive thinking
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Good working knowledge in digital channeling and the set-up of clients on online platform.
