Our client, the Gambling Control Commission invites applicants for the position of Head-Compliance. This position is responsible for planning, directing, and monitoring the management of the compliance function for the Commission.

Position summary

The Head-Compliance is responsible for planning, directing, and monitoring the management of the compliance function for the Commission, in accordance with legal and regulatory standards, local and international guidelines and policies. Work involves oversight of intelligence gathering and maintaining data to inform, advise and guide management accordingly.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Management, Social Sciences or related discipline from a recognised institution
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible executive level management/ compliance experience
  • Knowledge of local and international standards, legislation, including the Gambling Control Act and relevant laws applicable to the Commission would be an asset
  • Specialist knowledge of the related legislation regulatory frameworks (with specific experience in gambling compliance) and ability to apply it to the Commission would be an asset
  • Prior experience working in a Gambling Commission or regulatory environment would be an Asset

Key Accountabilities:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic objectives, and guidance on 

    standards, legislation and regulations
  • Plan and direct compliance management activities for the Commission
  • Establish and maintain standards for the development and maintenance of an effective system for monitoring and maintaining gambling control compliance
  • Oversee and monitor the testing and assessment of gaming machines and devices
  • Promote the activities of the Commission, its programs and goals to ensure Commission objectives align with applicable laws, regulations policies and code of ethics
  • Provide and oversee the advice and guidance on compliance matters to and by the Commission
  • Build and manage relationships with appropriate internal and external stakeholders
