Massy Wood is currently recruiting for an HSSE Coordinator with significant experience in the oil and gas industry.

 

Overview / Responsibilites

 

The HSSE Coordinator is developing, implementing and improving Massy Wood Group HSSE&S Management System to meet Company business objectives and expectations. The Coordinator is also responsible for  planning and communicating (e.g. Populate improvement plans with sub area activities to achieve objectives; Schedule timeframe delivery); implementing (Delivery of sub-area against timeframe, communicate plan progress, seek out collate local feedback, share good practice); monitoring & reviewing (Monitor progress against success criteria and timeframe; conducting  reviews against good practice; revising plans to close gaps identified against success criteria and closing Out (Complete close out review). 

 

  • Full compliance to document control management and data entry.
  • Achievement of 90% > in internal HSSE&S audit score in the Projects Area.
  •  Achieve goals, objective outlined by internal and external clients within your area of responsibility.
  • Advise all levels of the organisation on interpretation, development, implementation and continuous improvement of Massy Wood Group’s HSSE&S management systems.
  • Manage and coordinate multi sites within your area and providing evidence of continuous improvement.
  • Act as HSSE&S integrated management system subject matter expert for Massy Wood Group.
  • Advise managers regarding planning, implementation and corrective actions /follow-up to ensure sustainable improvement. 
  • Will work closely with contractors and Supply Chain in pre-qualification, pre-bid, pre- mobilization stages of the project to ensure subcontractor meet all of Massy Wood Group and client requirements.  
  • Will participate in gather information and providing scores with relevant parties on subcontractor quarterly evaluation.
  • Will input all pertinent subcontractor information in the HSSE&S Information Management system.
  • Will provide all necessary support and training to subcontractors working with Massy Wood Group.
  • Will develop and monitor Subcontractor development plans with documentation of progress.
  • Act as HSSE&S Subcontractor subject matter expert for the organization and ensure all levels are adhering to Corporate HSSE&S policies / programmes.
  • Train and coach HSSE&S Officers and Employees enabling them to implement and apply continuous improvement for effectiveness of Massy Wood Group HSSE&S Programme.
  • Implement and manage the overall Massy Wood Group HSSE&S Program within your area in a consistent manner.
    • Assisting teams to reach HSSE&S objectives / goals.
  • Report on program progress, assessment findings, and progress to closeout.
  • Gather and analyse assessment results to determine risk and implement effective controls to minimise risk.
  • Act as advisor for Massy Wood Group continuous improvement observations.
  • Make summary reports (weekly) on verification progress, findings, and status on closeout of improvement actions.
  • Organize and lead Assessment and Audits.
  • Maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Serve as primary contact to promote consistency and quality of third-party assessments and audits.
  • In coordination with supervisor, determine own work methods and set short/long term goals for Development & Implementation of HSSE policies and procedures to meet Corporate Business objectives for Massy Wood Group.
  • Provide direction and support to HSSE&S Officers and conduct HSSE&S Frontline Leading Indicators in field operations on frequent basis (1 site visits per week).
  • Participate in the Emergency Coordinator Role on a rotational basis.
  • Participate in Contractor HSSE&S Committee meeting taking active role in improving Contractor HSSE&S performance.
  • Recommend areas for Development, Implementation, Continuous Improvement and Certification activities and programs.
  • Serve as primary contact to promote consistency and quality of third-party assessments and audits.
  • Set short/long term goals for Development & Implementation of HSSE&S policies and procedures to meet Corporate Business objectives for Massy Wood Group.
  • Complete, with input from the HSSE&S Team Leader, the performance appraisal, both interim and annual, for the HSSE&S Officers.
  • Ensure all risk interventions are effectively closed out in timely manner with documentation.
  • Ensuring all relevant HSSE&S related information is communicated; all applicable employees have been trained / competent.
  • Leading and Lagging indicators are monitored and evaluated and frequent audits are conducted to ensure the right behaviors are embedded in the culture.
  • Cultivating an environment whereby management commitment and employee involvement are complementary that forms the core of the HSSE&S program.
  • Adhere to all HSSE&S policies/procedures and participate in Leading Indicators that will result in a Zero Accidents culture.
  • Perform all other related job functions as required.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health from a recognised university
  • National Examination Board of Safety and Health (NEBOSH) Certificate/Diploma
  • Certificate/Diploma from a recognised Safety Professional Board
  • A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in Oil & Gas/Process industries.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Understands the principles of integrating responsibility for HSSE&S within the management system.
  • Good understanding of current international standards for HSSE&S systems.
  • Knowledge of integrated HSSE&S Management System structure, resources for training and implementation of HSSE&S policies and procedures.
  • Proven experience executing key business processes both as a professional and Supervisor. Must have a thorough understanding of how HSSE&S management systems work and how they can be improved.
  • Training in the implementation and auditing of HSSE&S Management Systems.
  • Valid Certificate of Good Character (must not be older than 6 months).
  • Preference will be given to national citizens or permanent residents of Trinidad & Tobago.
