Job Title – HSEQ Support    

Purpose/Summary

Effectively support the organization to uphold and continuously develop the Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) policy. Provide HSEQ guidance to support the operational processes that ensures compliance to short, medium and long term business objectives.  To encourage and support the constant development of  HSEQ management system; and promote the positive HSEQ culture and performance whilst focusing on the safety and welfare of all.

Key Responsibilities & Main Activities

  1. Provide HSEQ interpretation and technical advice for regulatory and industry best practice requirements.
  2. Routinely liaise with Manager on all company HSEQ matters including medical concerns, incidents, projects, programmes, KPIs, Targets and Objectives
  1. Maintain existing Management Systems based on ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 and STOW.
  2. Review and prepare company documents, including Standard Operating Procedures, Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and Risk Assessments, to ensure that they are in compliance with company HSEQ requirements, and submit same for approval.
  3. Recommend improvements in processes, design, procedures and operating equipment to minimize hazards.
  4. Interact with the client to collect/provide HSEQ information and where necessary, conduct site visits when required.
  5. Routinely liaise with the departments/sites to confirm processes are current and correctly implemented to ensure activities (routine and non-routine) are executed safely and competently.
  6. Assist with the sourcing of HSE equipment/systems & materials for the department, including but not limited to sourcing quotations and following up with internal personnel.
  7. Conduct routine inspections on HSE equipment/systems and materials and coordinate preventive maintenance including liaising with relevant suppliers.
  8. Support vendor HSEQ evaluation and rating.
  9. Support company’s emergency response to HSEQ incidents.
  10. Ensure all HSEQ related incidents (including complaints) are recorded (hard copy and electronically); where necessary, coordinate and assist with investigations to ensure decisions and reports are made in a timely manner.
  11. Support all HSEQ audits, Gap Analysis,  Compliance Evaluation activities, inspections/surveys, and similar HSEQ initiatives.
  12. Maintain and routinely report on HSEQ matters including, incidents, projects, job completion feedback, programmes, KPIs, Targets, Objectives and HSEQ Performance.
  13. Maintain an effective corrective actions monitoring system.
  14. Assist with the planning, coordination, development and facilitation/distribution of HSEQ training initiatives inclusive of Emergency Response drills and Safety Awareness sessions whilst ensuring that the records are accurately completed and filed in a timely manner.
  15. Attend all HSEQ related meetings. Coordinate all internal HSEQ meetings inclusive of preparing the agenda and minutes as well as facilitation. Complete action plans and conduct following up on agreed deliverables from HSEQ meeting.
  16. Communicate pertinent HSEQ information to all relevant members of staff. Engage and educate all staff on the identification and resolution of HSEQ matters (Concerns & Improvement) with the intention of promoting a positive HSEQ culture.

 Mandatory Requirements:

  • Valid Passport
  • In-Date Immunization records

Certification & Competencies:

  • Professional Certification in Occupational Health & Safety will be considered an asset
  • HSEQ related Auditor Certification will be considered an asset
  • Auditing techniques
  • Understanding legal and other requirements to health and safety and environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Visio
  • Analytical skills; proficiency in data collection, analysis and presentation

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Familiarity with the Documentation & Implementation of HSEQ Management System Requirements
  • Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions and measurement of uncertainty
  • An understanding of internal/external customer requirements, the corrective action process
  • Experience in an offshore oil and gas setting would be an advantage

  • Organized (detail oriented), planning  and time management
  • Receive and give instructions properly (oral and written)
  • Good Oral and Written Communication
  • Result oriented  with problem solving approach
  • Good interpersonal skills, cooperative spirit and ability to work with teams
