HOTEL MANAGER
The Hotel Manager is responsible for the daily operation of the hotel, to improve and maintain a high quality of service. He/she is expected to give direction to all management staff at the assigned property and to ensure that this direction is imparted and upheld by all Team Members on property. He/ She is expected to manage the property’s income and expenditure, additionally ensuring that on property revenue is continually increased.
Specific Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Strategic on property Marketing Plan, Budget and Goals Programme to ensure ongoing optimum guest satisfaction, sales potential and profitability
- Manage the functions of all hotel personnel through supervision of department heads
- Participate in conducting weekly inspections and ensure physical facilities are kept in operational condition by full implementation of preventative maintenance programmes
- Ensure emergency procedures are practiced and enforced to provide for the security and safety of guests and employees
- Identify future potential department heads and participate in the development of their training plans
- Establish and maintain effective internal communication and meeting structures to ensure optimum team work and productivity
- Establish and maintain effective employee relations including open communication with all employees
- Monitor purchasing practices to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Assist in selling the hotel through personal involvement with all potential markets as required
- Any other task delegated as determined by the General Manager
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Hospitality from a recognized institution
- Minimum ten (10) year’s work experience in the Hotel Industry
- Excellent Customer Service Skills
- Proven track record of General Management of a 4 or 5 star hotel
- International experience and at least one foreign language
- Computer literate with working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products
- Food and Beverage experience and the ability to manage multiple outlets
