Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Treasury & Asset Management team in the capacity of:
Group Treasury Operations Officer – Trading Settlements
Have direct responsibility for processing settlements and other operational support for the Treasury functions across the Sagicor Group.
Location: Kingston
As a Group Treasury Operations Officer, you will:
- Promote quality service standards by observing and delivering consistent quality service in compliance with service level agreements.
- Process transactions related to international and USD Local Equities for both the client and proprietary portfolio.
- Verify and confirm the accuracy of amounts received for dividend payments for clients and complete instructions for the payment of the same.
- Maintain the register of securities held and ensure records are accurate and current.
- Monitor and reconcile statements of holdings received from international brokers against internal security registers.
- Process Jamaica Central Securities Depository (JCSD) bond transfers.
- Prepare JCSD third party reconciliations, identifying and investigating reconciling items.
- Prepare statements upon request for client’s position holdings for international equities.
- Reconcile and clear settlement accounts including client settlement accounts as well as overseas brokers and Citi-Outsourcing accounts.
- Prepare letters of confirmation to local brokers where necessary.
- Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.
What do you need?
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Management Studies or relevant discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
- At least two (2) years’ working experience in operations within a financial institution.
- Successful completion of the Jamaican Securities Course would be an asset.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong team orientation and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in the use of computer software packages including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
