Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Group Security Operations team in the capacity of:

 

Group Security Analyst

 

Perform advanced analytics to extract value and gather insights into the prevention and investigation of suspicious, fraudulent, or potentially fraudulent activities.

Assist with the security, confidentiality, integrity and availability of the data needed by the team.

 

Location: Kingston

 

As a Group Security Analyst, you will:

 

  • Provide advanced preventative and detective analytics solutions across all business and support services within Sagicor.
    • Design and build value by adding statistical model/ tools to facilitate the identification of fraudulent activities.
    • Create and execute a program to maintain, upgrade or retire the models in response to internal and external environmental changes.
    • Design and create a portfolio of diagnostic and predictive models/ algorithms to support the fraud prevention strategy.
  • Effectively manage the data science portfolio of the data needed for the effective management of the fraud prevention strategy for all business and support services within Sagicor.
    • Utilize deductive approaches to produce data driven insight to effectively manage the fraud prevent strategy.
    • Facilitate the proactive identification of suspicious/ fraudulent activities to minimize loss to Sagicor.
    • Assess the feasibility of utilizing statistical models to drive the results needed for the effectiveness of the unit.
    • Facilitate the identification of relationships across different data sources.
  • Provide support for the design and creation of data pipelines and reports.
    • Work with the members of the security team to ensure adequacy and relevance of the data needed by the team to execute their functions.
    • Provide reports, presentations to team members, committees and Board of Directors as required.
    • Assist management in ensuring the security, confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data utilized by the team.
    • Provide security recommendations to the security team, business units, and support team.
    • Participate in meetings and make changes/ improvement recommendations to policies and procedures.
  • Keep up to date on changes and trends that could impact Sagicor’s fraud risk by ongoing reviews of the business environment, payment associations mandates, general internal/ external environment.
  • Perform other related duties assigned from time to time.

 

 

What do you need?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or relevant discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • At least two (2) years working experience in data or statistical analysis with predictive modelling skills.
  • One year of business experience in analytics within information-intensive industries or digitally advanced enterprise.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of database reporting skills using SQL queries or stored procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of the data profiling, data modelling and data visualization process.
  • Sound knowledge of computer software packages including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Sound knowledge of predictive techniques and algorithms
  • Advance coding knowledge using modern programming standards.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to the processing of reports and other assigned duties.
  • Must be self-driven, curious, and creative.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Group’s policies and procedures relating to operations.
  • Basic knowledge of investigative techniques.
