The Group Network Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security.

This role involves collaboration with a team of IT professionals to assess network needs, deploy solutions, and monitor performance, all while providing ongoing support.

As the business evolves, the Group Network Administrator will play a key role in enhancing network capabilities, implementing best practices, and ensuring seamless connectivity for internal and external stakeholders. 

This role requires proactive management of network resources and close collaboration with other departments to align network strategies with organizational goals.

Core Functions:

  • Design, implement, and support LAN, Wifi, WAN, Metro, VPLS, and SDWAN environments. 
  • Conduct network assessments to align stakeholders on performance goals and expectations. 
  • Monitor and report on network performance metrics.
  • Prepare and present regular updates on network status, highlighting successes, challenges, and action items.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for network performance and security.
  • Coordinate network testing and validation processes, including user acceptance testing for new configurations.
  • Collaborate with IT team members to enhance network services and troubleshoot issues.
  • Adhere to project timelines and meet regular maintenance schedules. 
  • Work with internal and external partners to identify network needs and implement solutions.
  • Respond promptly to network incidents and client requests, working closely with IT personnel.
  • Play an active role in cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Maintain open communication with supervisors and team leads to ensure alignment on objectives.
  • Work with multiple networking, routing, and communication device types.
  • Travel to various company locations across Jamaica. 
Minimum Qualifications – Education & Experience:
  • Five (5) years of experience as a Network Administrator.
  • Two (2) years of experience working with IT personnel with varying levels of competence in networking. 
  • Active CCNA or higher certification.
  • CompTIA Network+ and Security+ would be an asset.
