We are looking for an experienced and talented Group ICT & Business Solutions Manager (GICTM) to lead our Group ICT Department. This position reports to the GEL Managing Director.

THE ROLE: 

The Group ICT & Business Solutions Manager (GICTM) is the senior manager responsible for Information Technology Systems, ensuring the business effectiveness of GEL’s Information Systems. A key focus is aligning GEL’s IT investments with its strategic business objectives. Additionally, the GICTM will ensure the overall effectiveness and relevance of IT, maintain the accuracy and reliability of IT operations, and integrate key components of business transformation—technology, processes, and people.

The GICTM will also lead business transformation by emphasizing the value of IT and contributing to breakthrough performance through advice on technology capabilities and their application. Furthermore, the GICTM will provide leadership in technology guidance and support to department staff, ensuring customer satisfaction at all times.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Leadership and Vision:

  • Provide technical vision and leadership to the Group of Companies, demonstrating how Information Technology can create a competitive advantage and drive business success.

Operational Excellence:

  • Collaborate with management and subsidiary companies on business technology planning and participate in developing IT business solutions for the Group of Companies.
  • Oversee or advise on the implementation of IT projects across the Group, with overall responsibility for successful planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure of projects.
  • Provide technology leadership to the Manufacturing Division.
  • Monitor technology trends and directions, and establish appropriate technology standards for the Group IT Department.

Risk Management:

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with IT systems and projects to ensure the security, cyber security and integrity of the Group's information assets.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies and policies to protect against potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop contingency plans and ensure business continuity in the event of IT disruptions or incidents.

People Leadership and Talent Development:

  • Recruit, mentor, and retain top talent.
  • Cultivate a work environment that fosters collaboration and inclusivity, enhancing employee engagement.
  • Offer leadership, guidance, and technology oversight to the Group and IT Team on all technical matters, in collaboration with Divisional IT Leads.

Stakeholder Relations:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders, including management, employees, suppliers, and industry peers.
  • Manage IT costs and vendor relationships on an ongoing basis.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master's degree and relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, CISSP) are an asset.
  • Professional Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in IT management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and applications. Experience with cloud computing, cybersecurity, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is essential.
  • Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to align IT strategies with business objectives and drive digital transformation initiatives.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Customer Focus: A strong commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence.
