Group Human Resources & Development Manager

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership for human resource and culture activities to ensure high quality staffing and retention across the Group.

 

Duties / Responsibilities:

This position reports to the Group General Manager.

  • Initiate, formulate and recommend to the Board, legally sound and effective human resource management programmes, policies and practices including: professional and auxiliary staffing, remuneration administration, leave administration, performance management, employee relations and benefits, occupational health and safety;
  • Work in collaboration with the direct reports to implement formally approved human resource management programmes, policies and practices;
  • Develop and document human resource processes and procedures to strengthen internal controls.
  • Design and revise contracts for full-time and contracted personnel across the Group;
  • Initiates, in consultation with the Senior Management members, organizational development and change management initiatives;
  • Effectively collaborate with all other departments to promote alignment and a healthy work environment in supporting the success of Group’s strategic plans;
  • Investigate grievances and/or complaints from employees for the purpose of achieving resolutions that promote a healthy work environment;
  • Develop, administer and/or outsource training programmes to meet the Group’s needs for a well-trained and efficient staff;
  • Prepares the Human Resources Department reports on key activities and outcomes, including budgeting, for submission to the Directors;
  • Provide leadership and development opportunities to direct reports and hold them accountable for achievement of the Group’s human resource management goals;
  • Keep abreast of industry trends to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the Group;

 

Minimum Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Competencies

  • Master's Degree in Human Resource Development or related field
  • Five (5) years of related work experience at a middle or senior management level;
  • Professional certification in human resources is an asset
  • Comprehensive knowledge of human resource management and development, Labour Relations and Industrial Dispute Act, Pensions and National Insurance provisions, and any related recent amendments;
  • Strong ethics, confidentiality and reliability;
  • Strong interpersonal, counselling, team building, employee evaluation and judgement skills;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Demonstrated capability to think strategically, with strong organizational and analytical skills;
  • Experience in programme development;
  • High level of competence in MS Office suite.
