Human Resource Officer

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The Human Resource Officer will play a key role in managing the company's HR functions, ensuring the development and implementation of policies, programs, and services. This role includes recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage the recruitment process, including interviews, and onboarding of new employees.
  • Monitor the  performance appraisal system to ensure that training needs identified in the developmental plan are carried out;
  • Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures in compliance with labor laws and company standards.
  • Conducts periodic updates of the database of staff changes on an as needed basis.
  • Monitors indicators of the organizational climate including grievance levels, staff turnover and absenteeism and management/staff relations; initiates and proposes strategies to maintain or restore harmonious relations.
  • Implements staff welfare, recognition and reward programmes.
  • Prepares and submits a monthy report of all HR related activities by the first week.
  • Ensures the submission of payroll information in a timely manner as stipluted by the company. 

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a human resources role, preferably in the retail industry.
  • A minimum of three (3) years Human Resource administrative experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, labor laws, and regulations.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
