The Business and Employment Centre seeks on behalf of our client, a skilled Group Accountant to manage full accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee full-cycle accounting for all business divisions.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and local regulations.
  • Develop budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic planning.
  • Conduct variance analysis to track performance against financial targets.
  • Ensure timely bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and receivable management.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and statutory requirements.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls and financial policies.
  • Identify cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
  • Provide financial insights to management for business expansion and investment decisions.
  • Work closely with operations, procurement, and sales teams to align financial planning with business objectives.
  • Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy and accountability.
  • Lead the implementation of financial systems and software enhancements.
  • Ensure continuous training and development of finance personnel.

 

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • ACCA designation (desirable but not essential).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in retail, wholesale, or distribution finance.
  • Proven track record in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial modelling.
  • In-depth understanding of taxation, IFRS, and audit processes.
