Geophysicist

To provide geophysical input in finding exploration and development prospects within Company’s acreage / JVs and propose exploration/ development drilling locations in a cost effective, safe and timely manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maps, assesses and conducts peer and Stage Gates reviews for exploration/development and IOR/EOR prospects in order to replace / add to hydrocarbon reserves.
• Generates seismic attribute volumes to perform structural, stratigraphic and lithological analysis work.
• Performs seismic to well ties and time-depth conversions as needed.
• Collaborates with other disciplines to deliver an integrated assessment of opportunities or work programs.
• Maintains an exploration/development portfolio of ranked drilling locations for assigned areas.
• Assesses seismic data quality for resource estimation, shallow drilling hazards and abnormal pressures for exploration drilling locations. 
• Provides technical support, quality control and onsite supervision of land or marine 2D/3D seismic surveys (acquisition and processing), geophysical surveys and logging.
• Uses seismic analysis techniques to support design, development and execution of the processing of new seismic data and reprocessing of existing seismic volumes. 
• Maintains velocity, seismic survey and Landmark project (wells) database.
• Develops Montages per drill location and submits for peer review.
• Prepares documentation, reports and work logs for surveys, well site assignments and special project assignments.
• Provides specialist geophysical advice and support for E&D and JV activities.
• Scouts for competitor and contractor activities in assigned areas /region. 
• Undertakes any other assignments required from time to time, to fulfil the job purpose.
