Our client, The Business Supply Group is seeking to fill the position of General Manager – SCRIP-J.

Position Overview:

The General Manager (GM) will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of SCRIP-J’s operations, including production, sales, and business development. The GM will lead the company’s efforts to achieve operational excellence, drive revenue growth, and ensure the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and execute the company’s strategic plan, aligning with the overall goals of BSGL.
    • Identify market opportunities, industry trends, and competitive threats to position SCRIP-J as a market leader.
    • Collaborate with BSGL’s executive team to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Operations and Manufacturing Management:
    • Oversee all aspects of production, including quality control, process optimization, supply chain management and preventative machine maintenance and repair.
    • Implement lean manufacturing principles to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Sales and Business Development:
    • Lead the sales team in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the printing and packaging markets.
    • Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships and strong relationships with key clients and suppliers.
  • Marketing
    • Oversee marketing initiatives to enhance brand visibility and product positioning.
    • Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and competitor strategies to inform marketing plans.
    • Lead marketing efforts that directly contribute to revenue growth
  • Financial Management:
    • Collaborate with BSGL’s shared Finance department to manage the company’s budget, forecasting, and financial performance.
    • Monitor key financial metrics and implement corrective actions to achieve profitability targets.
    • Drive cost management initiatives while maintaining product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team across all departments, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Work with BSGL’s Human Resources department on recruitment, training, and employee development programs.
    • Promote a safe and inclusive work environment that encourages innovation and accountability.
  • Customer Relationship Management:
    • Ensure the delivery of high-quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations.
    • Oversee the implementation of quality control systems and procedures.
    • Address and resolve customer concerns promptly to maintain strong relationships.
    • Implement customer feedback mechanisms to drive product and service improvements.
  • Innovation and Technology:
    • Leverage advancements in printing and packaging technology to enhance product offerings and operational efficiency.
    • Collaborate with BSGL’s IT department to implement technology solutions that support business growth and process optimization.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within the manufacturing sector
  • Strong operational management skills with a focus on efficiency, quality, and cost control.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building abilities, with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong business acumen with experience in sales and business development.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
