A Regional Gaming Company is seeking to recruit a suitability qualified and results-oriented individual to fill the position of General Manager.

Job Summary:         

The General Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the operating company through the execution of the Company’s strategic goals, policies, procedures and annual operating budget. Duties include managing its profit and loss by managing staff, and establishing and accomplishing agreed upon business objectives. Also required to facilitate a high level of productivity and a harmonious industrial relations climate. May be required to travel regionally or extra-regionally as required. Maintains and supports effective staff and customer relations.

Qualifications, Experience and Competencies:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or higher qualification in Business Administration, Management, Marketing or related field from a recognized academic institution, with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a middle to senior management level position, with P&L responsibility for a business unit.
  • In lieu of formal qualifications, a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in a middle to senior management level position, with some P&L responsibility for a business unit.
  • Certificate in Computer Applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of or experience in the Gaming or Leisure Industry preferable.
  • Knowledge of local Labour and Gaming Laws.
  • Strong finance, accounting, marketing and IT skills.
  • Ability to lead and influence teams and to foster a positive and encouraging work environment which motivates and empowers staff.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Skilled in project management and analysis.
  • Ability to identify and explore new business opportunities.
  • Strong time management, verbal, written and listening communication.
  • Must own a vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license for the operating jurisdiction and valid automobile insurance.

 Main Duties:

  • Communicates values, strategies and objectives; assigns accountabilities; plans, monitors and appraises job results; develops incentives; develops a receptive climate for information and opinions; provides environment of continuous learning and development.
  • Develops strategic plans for local operations by studying market, technological and financial opportunities, presenting assumptions and recommending objectives.
  • Accomplishes objectives by establishing plans, budgets and results measurements, allocating resources, reviewing progress and making timely interventions.
  • Performs other related duties, to ensure or facilitate effective and efficient operations.
  • Establishes procurement, production, marketing, field and technical services, policies and practices; coordinates actions with corporate headquarters.
  • Serves as liaison between corporate office and local governmental and non-governmental institutions.
  • Manages profit and loss by managing staff, and establishing and accomplishing agreed upon business objectives.
  • Reviews operations of venues as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, reports and analysis, as required.
  • Provides counseling and assistance as necessary to employees,
  • Facilitate a high level of productivity and a harmonious industrial relations climate.
  • May sometimes be required to travel regionally or extra-regionally
