GENERAL LEDGER OFFICER

Purpose of the Role

To ensure timely and accurate posting of General Ledger transactions and to participate in the preparation of financial reports and related analysis in accordance with the established reporting guidelines.

Principal Responsibilities

• Review and post accounts payable invoices and payment batches,
• Prepare manual invoices and debit notes,
• Generate depreciation and other assigned journal entries,
• Review, analyse and document general ledger account movements,
• Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements,
• Prepare monthly audit schedules,
• Assist in the coordination and execution of the external audit review,
• Prepare income statements and relevant reports for branches and departments.

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills,
• Good oral and written communication skills,
• High level of confidentiality and integrity,
• Practical knowledge of Microsoft tools in particular Excel,
• Ability to effectively schedule and execute deliverables with minimal supervision.

Minimum Education & Experience

• First Degree in Accounting, Finance or Management Studies (with an accounting major) or ACCA level 2,
• At least 2 years accounting experience,
• Sound knowledge of accounting principles and application.
