The Company, a leading agriculture player, seeks to expand its operations by establishing a Frozen Products Purchasing department. This new department will enable the company to diversify its product offerings, improve supply chain efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction.
The consultant is required to:
- Design and implement a procurement process for Frozen Products including appropriate procurement strategies.
- Perform a gap analysis of the current procurement process and provide guidance to management on best practices in procurement.
- Design and implement a supplier management program that includes:
a) Supplier selection and on-boarding process.
b) Supplier surveillance.
c) Supplier evaluation/performance management.
d) Supplier disqualification procedure.
- Determine the best approach for determining product demand.
- Establish product specifications.
- Develop quantity and/or pricing contracts and implement a contract management framework.
- Inventory management strategies.
- Identify collaboration partners and implement collaboration processes.
- Establish effective Logistics Management procedure that allows visibility along the in-bound supply chain.
- Make suggestions on “required” training for roles in the procurement department.
Key Outputs and Deliverables:
Over the term of the engagement the consultant is required to deliver the following:
- A documented procurement process
- Supplier Management Program
- Demand Forecasting Protocol
- Identified Quality and Food Safety Regulation that must be met
- KPIs for monitoring the performance of the procurement process
- Logistics management procedure
- A contract document
- Product specification document
- A documented “required training” plan for key job functions
