Forklift Service Engineer (Field Technician)

Roadtown Wholesale Trading Limited and Riteway Food Markets, the market leading wholesaler and retailer in the British Virgin Islands is currently recruiting for a FORKLIFT SERVICE ENGINEER (FIELD TECHNICIAN).

 Summary:

A Forklift Service Engineer (Field Technician) is needed to work within our Maintenance Department to maintain, repair, service and modify the companies range of products (forklifts, powered handling equipment, turret trucks, heavy duty trucks, and powered pallet jacks). 

Responsibilities:

• Complete daily allocated service jobs as assigned.
• Perform scheduled servicing on materials handling equipment and complete in line with company standard service items for scheduled maintenance
• Service, maintain, overhaul, fault find and resolve faults on company products.
• Respond to breakdowns.
• To deal promptly with customer enquiries, problems, or complaints.
• To keep control of vehicle stock/deliveries.
• Proactively highlight opportunities for additional retail service or repair work and initially advise the manager and report the opportunity accordingly for quoting.
• Order spare parts as necessary with the relevant approval.
• Achieve agreed targets.

Knowledge and Skills:

• A minimum of 3 years recent mechanical engineering experience gained in the servicing, diagnosing and maintenance of forklift/ materials handling equipment or other heavy equipment.
• Basic electrical knowledge would be beneficial.
• Effective planning and organizational skills.
• Able to work on your own initiative.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Build good rapport with customers.
• Knowledge of Toyota and Yale handling equipment would be beneficial.
• Capable of working on your own, with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
