Job Summary

Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Ground Service Equipment (GSE) Maintenance department. He/She will support the maintenance staff with technical advice and guidance, plan vehicle maintenance and scheduling of servicing and emergency repairs to assure that company quality control standards are met at all times.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive the effective and efficient repair and maintenance of all equipment as required.
  • Communicate with Senior Management and relevant department heads on matters related to the repair and maintenance of out of service equipment.
  • Will be liaison with operations management to coordinate repairs and servicing with minimal disruption to the day to day operation of customer
  • Review and modify Preventive Maintenance schedules on vehicles
  • Assist with recruitment of qualified and experience maintenance staff
  • Provide training, or can recommend training for maintenance staff
  • Assist with inventory and budgetary control which includes ordering of parts for the GSE shop
  • Provide troubleshooting and diagnostic assessment of ground support equipment as required.
  • Responsible for shop appearance and tracking service equipment maintenance and function
  • Ensures quality control on every piece of equipment that leaves shop after work is performed
  • Complete all maintenance/repair documentation consistent with carrier, station, airport authority, municipal, state, federal and Company requirements
  • Facilitate audit requirements.
  • Efficient use of MAXIMO system.

 

Qualifications and Competencies

  • BSc. In Mechanical Engineering or Aircraft Maintenance Engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in respective field
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Customer focus and quality awareness
  • Ability to deal with conflict
  • Must be able to work flexible working hours
