Ensure that motor vehicles and equipment (trucks, forklifts, vans and occasionally trailers) which are utilized in operations are available for use and are operated safely and efficiently.

Major Responsibilities

 

  • Evaluate physical condition of trucks, vans and forklifts daily for damage and regular wear and tear
  • Coordinate and monitor repairs of trucks and forklifts with external fleet and service providers
  • Track Performance of all vehicles in each DC
  • Measure Diesel and LPG consumption daily by Vehicle on a daily basis
  • Ensure that there are enough AMECO units for the daily operation
  • Ensure that the vehicles are in optimum operational condition                                                                                            
  • Assist in lowering the cost of the fleet operation where possible                                                        
  • Collect and compile data and prepare daily and monthly reports                                                           
  • Collect and review accident reports before sending to Fleet Manager                               
  • Liaise with internal partners (DCM’s and Delivery Supervisors) to assess and address fleet requirements
  • Adhere to all company policies and safety requirements for the role as prescribed by the business
  • Any other responsibilities as required by the business

 

Qualifications/skills & knowledge required

 

  • At least two years’ experience working in the automotive field and/or in a sales and distribution environment
  • An Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive Engineering or Business or related field
  • Knowledge of SAP would be an asset
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Critical thinking & decision making skills
  • Knowledge of Excel
  • Ability to interact on multiple levels
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle systems and technology
  • Basic knowledge of local and international safety standards
