JOB SUMMARY 

The Finance Manager reports to the Financial Controller and is responsible for overseeing the operational financial management of the organization. This includes ensuring compliance with financial regulations, driving efficient financial planning, and providing actionable insights to support strategic and operational decision-making.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develop, monitor, and manage budgets and forecasts to align with organizational goals.
  • Consolidate and prepare the Annual Operating Plan (AoP) Income Statement.
  • Conduct detailed financial analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
  • Prepare and present monthly performance reports to senior leadership.
  • Perform variance analyses and collaborate with budget holders to address adverse variances.
  • Generate revenue, cost, and cash forecasting reports, including monthly revenue analyses.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow projections.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations and standards.
  • Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring timely submission of required documentation.
  • Manage the preparation and submission of statutory reports (e.g., VAT, Green Fund Levy, Business Levy, Corporation Tax).
  • Lead revenue assurance activities to identify and resolve revenue leakage.
  • Monitor and manage operational expenses, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve financial performance.
  • Manage cash flow to meet the organization’s operational and capital requirements.
  • Maintain relationships with financial institutions to support funding arrangements, including loans and investments.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team to enhance individual and collective performance.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Provide financial expertise for operational and strategic initiatives, including product launches and market expansion.
  • Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to support senior leadership’s decision-making processes.
  • Support business transformation projects, mergers, and acquisitions from a financial perspective.
  • Oversee the purchase order generation and approval processes in alignment with procurement policies.
  • Provide input and support to the Procurement and Disposal Advisory Committee as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent.
  • 5–10 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, and team supervision.
  • Master’s degree or MBA will be an asset.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Advanced proficiency in financial software (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics) and MS Excel.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS, local accounting standards, and financial regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines.
  • High levels of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
