Job Summary

Reporting to the General Manager (GM) of the resort and the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Couples Resorts.  The incumbent will be required to oversee all aspects of the resorts financial management, including accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as working closely with the CFO in the development of internal control policies and procedures. The Financial Controller’s responsibilities will also include financial risk management by working closely with the Group Internal Auditor.

 

Duties & responsibilities are not limited to but includes:

  • Overseeing the resorts accounting department to ensure the hotel achieves budgeted revenues and costs.
    • Manage the development and continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives while monitoring the financial performance of the hotel.
    • Manage and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the resort including the management of credit, financial forecasting, budgets, financial trends and forecasts, consolidation, and timely and accurate analysis of budgets.
    • Collaborate with CFO regarding oversight of the investment portfolio and investment activities of the hotel.
    • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and operational effectiveness while strengthening the financial management of the company.
    • Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
    • Establish and maintain good working relationships with staff, Board of Directors, other business executives and professionals, and the general public.
    • Provide financial analysis and advice supporting the company’s strategic initiatives.

The successful candidate should have:

  • Completion of a professional accounting designation e.g. CGA, ACCA, CA, CPA or similar designation and or a Master’s Degree in Accounting
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in a financial & business leadership role, preferably in the hotel industry
  • Broad knowledge of general accounting principles, practices and procedures
  • Knowledge and experience in ensuring compliance, financial regulations and governance
  • Proven experience working as a part of a senior management team to devise and successfully execute strategy
  • Excellent leadership skills, change management skills, and teambuilding skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and capable of communicating at all levels of the organisation.
