Finance Officer
Cuso International Jamaica Office has an exciting, permanent part-time, position for a talented Finance Officer (FO).
Cuso International (Cuso) is an international organization that works to reduce poverty and inequality through the efforts of highly skilled volunteers, collaborative partnerships, and compassionate donors. Funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC), Cuso in collaboration with the Caribbean Biodiversity Fund (CBF) is implementing a 4-year project, Caribbean Organizations for a Resilient Environment (CORE) to build the capacity of National Conservation Trust Funds (NCTFs) operating in eight countries (Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Saint Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Suriname) to implement local, nature-based solutions for climate change adaptation and mitigation through an inclusive and gender responsive approach. Reporting directly to the Head of Programmes (HoP), Latin America and the Caribbean the FO will handle the project’s administrative, logistical, accounting, and financial systems in accordance with Cuso and GAC’s financial requirements in coordination with CORE’s Project Coordinator (PC).
Qualifications required:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field
3+ years of experience in finance, administration, or office management, including familiarity with accounting systems (e.g., SUN Accounts, Accpac, etc.) work experience in project administration and volunteer/staff management and/or support
Sound knowledge and practice in accounting
Excellent financial planning, budgeting, and reporting skills
Ability to understand and work with restricted and unrestricted funds concepts and with financial management policy frameworks
