Bryden pi Limited is seeking to recruit a suitable candidate for the following position in the Finance Division:

To provide financial information as well as the financial reporting, accounting best practice, tax compliance and internal controls perspective of the Organization to the Management and Executive team, in order to facilitate sound decision-making and adherence to financial reporting, tax and other applicable regulations, and to manage the accounting function of the Company (in conjunction with other members of the Finance management team) towards achieving these objectives.

Some Main Responsibilities include: 

  • Assists with strategic and operational planning for the Department including having input into the following: Department goals and objectives; Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); Manpower planning (Succession plans, Talent management); Operating plans to achieve targets; Department Communication Plans
  • Maintains relationships with Key Operational Stakeholders, including but not limited to External auditors, Bankers, Lenders, Regulators.
  • Delivers weekly Finance KPI Dashboard for review by the Financial Controller and reporting to the Executive
  • Delivers monthly management accounts in agreed format with related reporting package
  • Oversees the preparation of cash flow analysis for all currencies: TTD, USD and Euros weekly to ensure the company is able to meet all its financial obligations to creditors, lending agencies, shareholders, inter-company etc. and surplus cash is invested.
  • Delivers analyses (variance explanations for both income statement and balance sheet, analytical reviews and reconciliations of income statement and balance sheet accounts) for inclusion in monthly reporting to the Executive
  • Overall responsibility of Accounts Payable function, including but not limited to: Ensures timely processing of invoices and timely payment of suppliers; Liaises and negotiates with banks, as necessary, to obtain foreign currency to pay suppliers.
  • Ensures Supplier reconciliations are prepared for all major suppliers and investigation and adjustments are made where necessary.
  • Ensures the loan registers are maintained accurately and timely, including timely repayments of loans and interest, ensuring all loan covenants are adhered to.
  • Reviews of all balance sheet reconciliations to ensure reasonableness, completeness and accuracy of reported values, as well as: Proposes adjustments to correct errors or omissions; Provides recommendations for process improvements to prevent the recurrence of errors.
  • Reviews all bank reconciliations and follow up to ensure that reconciling items are cleared in no more than one month
  • Provides analyses to support profitability growth, in the areas of pricing reviews, cost reduction initiatives and general expense management
  • Reviews proposed pricing/price adjustments/specials by Divisions and modeling of profitability impact of price changes for decision-making and approval of prices
  • Manages the Payroll function ensuring on-time completion of all data input and calculation of deductions, to enable the release of salary payments in accordance with agreed timelines
  • Reviews overtime analyses and liaise with Divisions and functional areas to proactively address the underlying causes of excessive overtime
  • Reviews expense allocations while liaising with relevant internal stakeholders to ensure correct allocation to Accounts and Divisions
  • Coordinates the preparation of the annual Operating Budget including: Liaises with Line and Divisional Heads to ensure input data is provided in accordance with requirements (timeliness, formats, level of detail); Assimilates data into comprehensive plans based on agreed strategic, operating and compliance parameters; Ensures Budget alignment with overall Company goals and objectives
  • Manages all tax-related audits (VAT, BIR)
  • Manages all PAYE and NIB Audits
  • Oversees Annual Statutory Audits (interim and final) including: Coordinates required reports and analyses by all functional areas; Provides requested supporting documents as required; Provides explanations of balances, transactions and arrangements; Liaises with external auditors to ensure timely resolution of all audit-related matters, escalating to the FC and Executive as necessary
  • Assists with the preparation of IFRS compliant Financial Statements with explanatory notes for year-end statutory audits and related reporting
  • Prepares ad-hoc reports and analyses as may be requested from time to time by the Financial Controller or Executive
  • Assists with the development of Accounting policies and procedures, and provision of recommendations for continuous improvement of policy frameworks through review of processes in the context of internal and external operating environments
  • Assists with the review of internal control systems across all areas of the Company, and provision of recommendations for continuous improvement to support the achievement of operating excellence
  • Creates and amends VAI and Azure reports using an end-user targeted approach to drive more effective decision making
  • Supervises, directs and reviews the work of direct reports within the team to ensure the following: Timely and accurate reconciliations and analyses of Key Accounts;Thorough investigation of errors/omissions identified through reviews of the financial statements and related reconciliations and analyses; Determination of appropriate adjustments/disclosures required in respect of errors identified; Escalation of issues/errors/omissions for action as necessary
  • Direct involvement in charting the professional development path of direct reports including the following: Periodic staff performance appraisals as required by the Company; Makes recommendations for training/improvement opportunities for direct reports; Makes recommendations for promotion of direct reports; Actively builds team
  • Perform other duties that may be required to enhance the operations of the Company

Qualification, Experience and Requirement: 

  • Professional Accounting Qualification
  • A Master’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field will be an assess
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar role with at least three (3) years at a managerial level
  • Experience with integrated Accounting software package(s)
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management and accounting, ideally in the Distribution Sector
  • Proven effectiveness leading professionals in finance and accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Or relevant combination of training and experience
  • A valid Police Certificate of Good Character
