Role Title: Finance Manager
Department: Accounts Department
Reports to: CEO
Responsible For Role Holder(s): Accountant, Inventory Officer, Accounts Clerk Payable, and Accounts Clerk Receivable
Purpose of role: Responsible for directing financial and management accounting functions such as planning, procurement, implementation and investment for Barbados Conference Services Ltd.
Qualifications & Experience: A degree in accounting or other related discipline and a Professional Accounting Designation (ACCA, CPA, etc.). At least four years of previous relevant experience.

Key Results areas:
Strategic | - Direct corporate strategic financial planning, capital allocation and performance measurement processes
- Work with leadership team to build quality forecasts and budgets, measure against forecasts, determine trends, variance analysis and highlight areas of opportunities
- Partner with the leadership team to drive financial and operational performance, ensuring appropriate financial regulations and controls are in place and used at all times
- Prepare annual estimates of revenue and expenditure in accordance with the Public Finance Management Act
- Review operational costs in relation to the prices being charged for room rentals and event planning services.
- Coordinate the preparation of the company’s budgets.

Operational | - Prepare and file annual tax returns and other financial information.
- Liaise with the various department heads to enhance operational efficiency through the use of information technology.

Financial | - Prepare or direct the preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, or reports required by regulatory agencies.
- Evaluate the financial aspects of product development, such as budgets, expenditures, research and development appropriations, return on investment and profit-loss projections.
- Manage cash resources and holdings to maximize returns on invested funds in accordance with required investment restrictions
- Liaise with the internal and external auditors to ensure timely completion of audits
- Lead other finance-related activities and projects based on the direction of the CEO

Administrative | - Direct the hiring, training, and performance evaluations of the accounting & inventory staff and oversee their daily activities.
- Monitor and evaluate the Finance Department’s staff performance to support growth and development through training and knowledge sharing and improve performance through coaching and performance improvement plans, when necessary
- Delegate administrative functions so that the mandate established by BCSL is met in a timely manner.

Technical | - Oversee the preparation of financial reports, general ledger posting, bank reconciliation and audit schedules.

Clerical | - Draft and review correspondence to the bank, other financial institutions, suppliers, creditors, customers and any other parties on behalf of the accounts department.
- Preparation of financial board reports.

Direct External Communication | - Communicate with the bank, regulatory authorities and other agencies in relation to financial matters.

Delegation of Duties | - Delegation of accounting, & inventory related duties to the members of the team.
- Delegate responsibilities to service providers and external agencies when necessary.

Supervisory | - Supervise the daily activities of the Accounts Department and the Inventory Officer.
