FINANCE MANAGERReporting to the Director of Finance, the Finance Manager is primarily responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department, supervising staff and ensuring the preparation of timely, accurate and reliable accounts for effective decision making. The incumbent is vested with the responsibility for preparing and executing the annual audit, ensuring proper internal controls and participating in the annual budgeting process. The incumbent is accountable for the effective management of the accounting and finance functions inclusive of treasury, debt financing, financial accounting, reporting and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, project cost management, payroll and internal control systems. Key responsibilities - Manages the full range of NHSL’s finance functions including financial accounting, management accounting, budgeting, long-term financial planning, treasury management, debt management, credit management, payroll management and insurances.
- Prepares and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring efficiency and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Develops and implements financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Monitors and supervises the daily performance of the accounting/finance team, ensuring that established work targets are achieved, productivity levels are maintained and healthy teamwork is fostered.
- Conducts financial analysis and modelling to support strategic decision-making and revenue enhancement.
- Aids in the development of the human resources within its area by understanding and highlighting any existing gaps and providing recommendations for improvement accordingly.
- Performs any other duties related to the job function as required
Requirements: - Professional Accounting Designation (ACCA/CMA certification)
- Minimum of five years working experience
- Minimum of three (3) years managerial or senior supervisory experience
- Some exposure to financial modelling would be an asset.
- Working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, payroll and auditing processes/techniques.
- Demonstrable knowledge of current Accounting regulations and Local Tax Laws
- Ability to develop, motivate and manage a diverse team on time sensitive projects.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
- Possess a high degree of integrity, tact and diplomacy.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft office and various accounting software.
