F&A Sustainability Reporting & Compliance Analyst

 

OVERVIEW:
KPMG Jamaica has a delivery center named "Jamaica Extended Support Services (JESS)" operating from Kingston, which is contracted to provide office support to its member firm KPMG United States ("the Client"). The Clients’ Finance & Accounting function is expanding operations at JESS to support the Sustainability Reporting process area. Team members within the delivery center work with Client’s stakeholders under a team extension model to support Client’s back-office operations.

The Clients’ Sustainability Reporting team plays an important role in developing the processes and rigor to ensure the firm’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) data is complete and accurate prior to being disclosed to external parties.

JOB SUMMARY: 
In this role, you will be responsible for conducting ESG control and data testing and validation activities. This role will involve working closely with various stakeholders while reporting to the Director of Sustainability Reporting. The Sustainability Reporting team sits within our corporate Finance & Accounting function.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Service Delivery

•Support the development, implementation and management of ESG controls.
•Support alignment with other control and data integrity and validation groups, including but not limited to internal audit, risk management and external assurance providers.
•Assist with the development and delivery of guidance, training and status reporting to stakeholders.
•Support other strategic work and special projects as requested by team leadership, such as researching new regulatory and reporting requirements or assisting with the preparation of the Impact Plan.
•Recommend, review, and maintain and/or approve the assigned Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure that all changes are timely updated.
•Be a facilitator of cross training within teams.
•Performs quality assurance review to meet Client’s expectations and deadlines.
•Oversee efforts to meet deadlines while maintaining quality.
•Interact with other departments within JESS/onshore to ensure that assigned tasks are completed timely and accurately.
•Encourage and support the identification of continuous improvement initiatives such as automation and procedural enhancements.
•Facilitate routine Root Cause Analysis discussions to identify and implement improvements with a view to increase accuracy.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
•Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Data Analytics from an accredited college/university or any other related field.
•A minimum of three years of experience in business-related area including Audit/Internal Audit and Data Analytics; including experience with control and data testing and validation.
•Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or an equivalent professional accounting designation is preferred.
•Familiarity with ESG/sustainability reporting standards and frameworks, including but not limited to GRI, WEF IBC, GHG Protocol, CDP, etc.is preferred.
•Experience using Workiva (workiva.com) and AI technologies is a plus.
•Awareness of COSO 13 Framework is a plus.


SPECIAL CONDITIONS
•Expected to work in a fast-paced team environment located in Jamaica.
•Will be working primarily in a paperless environment and expected to be using information systems for the entire workday to access data or perform activities.
•May be required to work extended hours periodically or on public holidays.
