Our client, Caribbean Airlines Limited is seeking to fill the position of Executive Manager, In Flight and Catering.

This position is open to Regional and International candidates.

 

JOB SUMMARY

The Executive Manager, In Flight and Catering reports to the Chief Operations Officer (COO). The incumbent is responsible for developing strategies and tactics to ensure the effective operations of the in-flight department.  The incumbent will be accountable for Cabin Attendant training, in-flight catering, in-flight promotions and products, and in-flight customer service delivery while ensuring that the requisite regulatory compliance of Cabin Attendants is maintained.  The incumbent will also be responsible for the development and administration of the Cabin Attendant Training programme and will develop and implement operating policies and procedures toward establishing the highest safety and service standards.  Additionally, he/she will ensure that all catering planning and operations are managed in accordance with operational requirements and budgetary approvals.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountable to the Chief Operations Officer for ensuring the safety and security of cabin operations and ensures that the In-flight Services Department is in compliance with Company policies, regulatory and legal requirements of all countries into which the airline operates or overflies;
  • Develops departmental objectives to meet Company’s overall strategic goals;
  • Prepares the department’s annual budget proposals and administers approved budget;
  • Liaises with trainers in the development and promulgation of safety and other pertinent information affecting all fleets;
  • Ensures Initial, Recurrent, Re-Qualification and Re-certification Training Programmes for new and experienced Cabin and Flight Crew is conducted in the area of Safety and Emergency Procedures and that all cabin crew have the necessary competency to carry out their duties;
  • Develops, implement and approve all training in accordance with regulatory requirements and company standards;
  • Participates in the processes of staff recruitment, appraisal, discipline and reward in accordance with the Performance Management System;
  • Advises on the staffing requirements of the Cabin Crew by monitoring the scheduling of the Cabin Crew to meet fleet and scheduling requirements and advises the Director of Operations of issues with the necessary recommendations;
  • Directs the performance assessment process of all employees in accordance with the approved procedures and implement corrective action(s) as necessary;
  • Ensures that on-board assessments and airport audits are implemented as required;
  • Ensures appropriate action is taken to enhance the skills base within the body and that all Cabin Crew receive the required training to meet Operational and Regulatory requirements;
  • Ensures effective and up to date system of recording as it relates to Cabin Crew qualifications;
  • Reviews operations and makes recommendation on In-flight operations/systems/procedures in alignment with corporate strategies;
  • Ensures that catering is managed in accordance with operational Budget requirements, and reports as necessary;
  • Makes recommendations and implements approved changes to In-flight Services thereby ensuring that the corporate standards are kept;
  • Selects, develops and counsels Cabin Crew in order to create and maintain effective levels of performance ensuring that the In-flight Services Department maintain the requisite competence and skills for the achievement of its objective;
  • Participates in meetings and liaises with representatives from other departments as necessary.
  • Carries out revenue flying, in addition to training flying as may be necessary in the interest of fulfilling the Company’s schedules and the maintenance of personal proficiency on all aircrafts
  • Provides expert guidance and participates in matters related to Cabin Crew negotiations;
  • Ensures that all In-flight Safety Videos meet the regulatory requirements and Entertainment Videos satisfy the company’s Customer Service objective; and
  • Performs such other duties outside the normal scope of responsibilities that may be required to maximize the efficiency, productivity, and customer relations and enhance the entire operations of the company.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Aviation Management and/or a combination of education, training and related work experience. 
  • At least fifteen (15) years’ experience in a similar role, eight (8) of which must be at a senior management level. 
  • Experience and knowledge of In-Flight Services is preferred.
  • Requisite knowledge of the current TTCAA regulations as it pertains to regulatory training requirements will be an asset.
