The EMBD Company Profile
The Estate Management and Business Development Company (EMBD), formed in 2002, is a wholly – owned State Enterprise under the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries and is responsible for the management of the former Caroni (1975) Ltd. lands.
The EMBD, within its mandate of management of these lands, is also responsible for stimulation and facilitation of new business activity in several areas, including residential and agricultural estate development. The EMBD is currently the manager of seven (7) blocks of agricultural land, intended for the cultivation of suitable crops for sustainable agricultural development.
Another critical role of the EMBD is the development of residential sites for the former Caroni (1975) VSEP workers, which supports the objective of our line Ministry, by assisting these VSEP workers in becoming land and home owners, and in building sustainable residential communities.

The Human Resource Officer reports to the HR & Administration Manager and provides day to day administrative and technical support in the HR & Administration Department. Additionally, the Human Resource Officer supervises the Administrative Assistant (pool), the Driver/Courier and Office Attendant.
The Senior Project Manager reports to the Projects & Quarry Manager and is responsible for supervising Construction Projects at EMBD.
Provides the full range of legal services to the Company, ensuring legal, statutory and regulatory obligations/requirements are complied with and the management and direction of all activities of the Legal Department.
The Estates Manager is to perform the full range of Land/Real Estate management duties including overseeing all Agricultural land leasing, strategic estate management and land surveying activities for the management of 6,268 Acres of lands vested in EMBD.
The Procurement Officer is responsible for leading the EMBD’s total procurement and disposal of public property efforts, in a manner designed to achieve the objectives of the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Property Act 2015, as amended.
