Main Purposes of Role

  • Represent the Company’s Equipment, Parts and Service Departments in a sales capacity to promote and sell all represented products, services and Product Support solutions.
  • Develop and maintain excellent communication and excellent customer relationships with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Understand and satisfy customers’ equipment, parts, product support and service needs.
  • Achieve preset agreed revenue targets consistently.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform basic machine inspections to generate opportunity for customer interaction and sales.
  • Follow up on sales leads.
  • Investigate prospects for new customers and new parts/service revenue sources.
  • Build collaborative relationships and ensure business integrity is maintained.
  • Keep customers informed of parts order and service work status.
  • Counsel customers regarding equipment management solutions (EMS) to affect lowest owning and operating costs.
  • Negotiate win-win outcomes regarding customer issues.
  • Assist customer in identifying parts using Original Equipment Manufacturer’s manual and computerized systems.
  • Report competitive parts, service, and machine information and activity.
  • Provide input/information into planning and budgeting process.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI).
  • Identify and report on incremental opportunities for future sales both within Product Support as well as other areas of the Dealership.
  • Prepare quotations, sales contracts, and related paperwork necessary to close a deal.
  • Supply weekly reports on visits to customers and sales activity.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area compliant with the Safety & Health at Work Act.

Requirements

  • The completion of a good secondary education is required; a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or relevant field will be a plus
  • Proven work experience as a Sales Representative, preferably in the machine parts or insudtrial equipment industry.
  • Excellent sales, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • A minimum of three to five years’ experience in a sales role in a competitive business environment.
  • Technical acumen and basic knowledge of different types of machinery, equipment and parts; knowledge of industrial equipment would be an asset.
  • Ability to deliver engaging presentations.
  • Computer literate.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software would be a plus.
