Equipment Operator - Engineering

Operate safely and efficiently all equipment assigned to the Engineering Department, adhering to Terminal speed limit, safety & operational standards while meeting set KPIs

JOB PURPOSE

Operate safely and efficiently all equipment assigned to the Engineering Department while strictly adhering to the Terminal’s speed limit, traffic flow regulations and other safety and operational standards and while achieving set KPIs

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, INCLUDE:

• Operate utility truck with crane attached, Manlifts, Forklifts, and pressure machines such as Air and Water, to execute maintenance and capital projects activities on the Terminal
• Comply with directives of the assigned Section Manager, Shift Manager, Assistant Shift Manager or Team Leads at all times
• Carry out all routine pre- and post-operation equipment inspection checks as per operating procedures and report all equipment defects to Equipment the Facilities Manager
• Report immediately any incidents or accidents occurring during the execution of work activities
• Ensure at all times that the assigned equipment has sufficient fuel, adhere to refuelling facility procedures and maintain the equipment in a clean and tidy condition
  • Assist with the training of KFTL employees as required by management

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KEY COMPETENCIES

• Secondary or Technical/Vocational school graduate of good standard      
• 5 years’ working experience in operating specialized mobile equipment
• Training/certification in equipment operations
• Knowledge of equipment handling, safety standards, Terminal operations
• High energy, sound physical and mental ability, ability to work under pressure
• High integrity and ethics, excellent judgement and problem solving skills
• Good organizing and time management skills, teamwork, customer service and interpersonal skills
• Current driver’s licence (Open General)
