Summary : 

This highly skilled professional is responsible for kitchen equipment installation, restaurant equipment repair, and maintenance. Also, to maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and operational efficiency. The job involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining equipment, with an emphasis on troubleshooting and preventive maintenance. Technicians must also communicate effectively to ensure satisfaction and operational safety.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain Air conditioning units, ice machines, broiler ovens, pizza ovens, refrigerators, deep fryers, and walk-in coolers/freezers, as well as small appliances.
  • Ensure that equipment is regularly inspected, cleaned, and serviced to ensure optimum performance and longevity.
  • Conduct equipment repair to uphold the reliability and safety of essential kitchen equipment.
  • Utilize the work order management system to efficiently handle and complete work requests.
  • Install new equipment and address issues like leaks, faulty wiring controls, and worn-out or defective parts.
  • Collaborate with fellow maintenance workers, company officials, and staff to devise effective solutions for maintenance problems.
  • Respond promptly to emergency equipment repair calls, even during off-hours.
  • Be open to performing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor, contributing to the overall efficiency of the maintenance team.

 

Training and Education

  • Diploma/Certificate in refrigeration and air conditioning
  • Knowledge of electrical installation

Experience:

  • Minimum of eight (8) years hands-on in installation, repairs and maintenance of equipment.

Specialized Skills:

  • Welding
  • Electrical/electronic systems
  • Propane Gas technology
  • Troubleshooting
  • Mechanical

Specialized conditions:

  •  Irregular working hours
  • Dangerous wet and slippery working conditions
  • Climbing ladders and working high above ground
  • Exposure to high and low temperature
  • Working with high voltage
  • On call 24hrs
  • Holder of a valid driver’s license
