ANSA McAL Limited is seeking the ideal candidate for the position of Employee Relations and Benefits Manager.

JOB SUMMARY

The Employee Relations and Benefits Manager is a senior HR professional responsible for shaping the Group’s employee compensation, benefits and employee relations strategies. This role is pivotal in compliance with IR and labour laws, and developing competitive benefits programs aligned with organizational goals. The manager serves as a trusted advisor to leadership on employee relations matters, oversees complex workplace issues, and leads the design and implementation of benefits programs that support employee engagement and retention. Additionally, this role reports to the Chief People & Culture Officer, and supervises and mentors the Employee Benefits Lead, ensuring efficient and effective program administration.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Employee Benefits Management:
    • Lead the design, development, and implementation of comprehensive employee benefits programs, including health insurance, pensions, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and leave policies.
    • Evaluate and recommend enhancements to benefits offerings to ensure they are competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with organizational strategy.
    • Build strong relationships with benefits providers, negotiating contracts to optimize service delivery and value.
    • Drive the development of communication strategies to maximize employee awareness and engagement with benefits programs.
    • Monitor industry trends and provide thought leadership on benefits innovations to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Compensation Equity Monitoring:
    • Oversee and conduct regular audits to ensure pay equity across all levels and demographics, addressing disparities and promoting fairness.
    • Collaborate with HR and leadership teams to align compensation practices with organizational values and workforce needs.
  • Employee Engagement and Retention:
    • Develop and implement strategic initiatives that leverage benefits and employee relations programs to enhance engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
    • Use data-driven insights to ensure programs meet the needs and values of a diverse workforce, driving loyalty and long-term retention.
    • Act as a champion for employee well-being, aligning benefits with organizational goals and workforce expectations.
  • Industrial Relations and Legal Compliance:
    • Develop and execute strategies for collective agreements and labor negotiations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
    • Stay informed of local and international labor laws, ensuring compliance across all regions of operation.
    • Together with IR counsel, provide advice and support to leadership on legal aspects of employee relations, including workplace disputes, terminations, and investigations.
    • Ensure that all employee relations processes and disciplinary actions are consistent, transparent, and aligned with company policies and regulations.
  • Reporting and Analytics:
    • Analyze data related to employee relations, benefits utilization, and program effectiveness to identify trends and provide actionable insights for leadership.
    • Prepare executive-level reports on employee relations and benefits program performance, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.
    • Oversee audits related to employee relations and benefits, ensuring compliance with legal and internal standards.
  • Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Lead and mentor the Employee Benefits Lead, providing strategic guidance and ensuring the effective delivery of benefits programs.
    • Collaborate with HR, legal, and finance teams to align employee relations and benefits strategies with overall business objectives.
    • Develop and deliver training programs for managers on conflict resolution, employee behavior, and handling complex workplace issues.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field; Master’s Degree preferred
  • 10+ years of HR experience with a focus on employee relations and benefits including 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Strong expertise in labour laws, industrial relations and benefits compliance.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex employee relations issues and leading organizational change.
  • Proven ability to design and execute competitive and innovative benefits programs.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, benefits administration platforms, and data analytics.
