The incumbent is responsible for inspecting, coordinating and performing electrical maintenance activities (planned and unplanned) and projects.
Duties & Responsibilities:
o Performs scheduled and/or unscheduled preventative or routine maintenance tasks as per work
schedule to include minor repairs within and around the plant or as assigned by Engineering
Supervisors.
o Performs electrical checks and repairs, including but not limited to replacement of bulbs, ballasts
or lighting fixtures, cleaning etc. as per schedule or as assigned.
o Address downtime issues promptly and effectively.
o Assist to install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot electrical issues on the plant as it arises.
Includes electric motors, motor control devices, pumps, compressors, variable speed drives and
auxiliary equipment.
o Conducts routine inspection of office buildings/facilities/warehouse as well as immediate
surroundings and prepares reports on any areas of concern (e.g. major electrical works).
o Maintain spares as needed to ensure that all stock is available when required.
o Effectively utilize and maintain the CWorks Plan Maintenance System, including following all
computer based and paper processes for work order completion and documentation.
o Develop electrical diagrams and drawings as needed.
o Maintain and utilize accurate equipment files such as maintenance and inventory logs, manuals,
and blueprints.
o Operate and perform maintenance of hand tools, light, and heavy equipment.
o Carry out the preventive and proactive maintenance tasks diligently, on time and accurately.
o Provide reports as when requested by the Engineering Supervisor concerning maintenance issues
and activities.
o Liaises with all external contractors that may be retained by the Department and provides support
as necessary to ensure the satisfactory completion of allocated tasks.
o Develops and maintains a log of all parts and materials used and ensures sign off by supervisor and
submits for records.
o Prepares, updates and submits completed tasks/job sheets of activities to the Engineering
Supervisor.
o Demonstrate and maintain good housekeeping in the execution of maintenance activities.
o Demonstrate and maintain tools, spares, and other equipment with such care that they are not left
lying in or on machinery, on the factory floor or generally out of place.
o Conforms to and enforces all established departmental and company policies, procedures and
objectives, GMPs, food safety and HSE site protocols.
o Immediately report any non-conformances relating to maintenance operations to the Engineering
Supervisor.
o Performs other related tasks and responsibilities as required by the Engineering Manager and/or
Supervisor.
o Undergo all job-related training required by the company.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
o Diploma in Mechatronics and/or Electronics Engineering or equivalent qualifications in sound
Electrical/Electronic Certification competencies.
o More than 3 years of experience as an Electrical Technician preferably in a Food & Beverage
Industry.
o Strong working knowledge of maintenance operations (both mechanical and electrical)
o Time management skills and organizational skills
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and data entry software
