Electrical Engineer

Evaluate, maintain, design and improve electrical systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of plant equipment, while adhering to engineering standards, safety protocols, and organizational objectives, to drive continuous improvements in electrical infrastructure of the company.

JOB SUMMARY

Evaluate, maintain, design and improve electrical systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of plant equipment, while adhering to engineering standards, safety protocols, and organizational objectives, to drive continuous improvements in electrical infrastructure of the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Inspect electrical installations and operations to verify conformance to design specifications and adherence to safety protocols.
• Prepare and review technical drawings and specifications to confirm compliance with electrical codes, engineering standards and operational requirements.
• Monitor and troubleshoot electrical systems and process parameters, recommending and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
• Evaluate and redesign electrical systems and equipment to enhance reliability and improve plant processes, reducing operational costs.
• Ensure proper documentation and management of electrical manuals, PLC program updates, and technical records to maintain operational readiness and traceability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to select, test, and commission new equipment, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and plant compatibility.
• Develop and manage preventive maintenance plans for high-voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) systems to ensure consistent reliability and adherence to industry standards.
• Prepare annual R&M budgets and CAPEX proposals for inclusion in the business plan, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
• Manage the asset lifecycle of electrical systems by monitoring performance and making data-driven recommendations for upgrades or replacements to ensure optimal efficiency, reliability and safety of the electrical infrastructure.
• Provide technical support and training to staff, enhancing team capabilities and ensuring adherence to operational protocols, to consistent compliance with all relevant standards and procedures.
• Develop, implement, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for electrical and automation systems to standardize practices and improve efficiency.
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports summarizing electrical system performance, maintenance activities, and project updates to support informed decision-making.
• Perform all other relevant duties as required to ensure optimum operation of the business.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline

• 7 years’ experience in the maintenance of Electrical and Instrumentation systems
