Course Overview
The Bachelor of Science Degree in Actuarial Science will focus on applied practical scientific methods. The course of study will be highly analytical in nature and involves strong communication skills and use of knowledge-based systems. The course is designed to produce graduates who are equipped to contribute at the planning and research level. They will be able to collect, analyze and interpret data and findings in a variety of business and insurance fields. The graduates of the course will demonstrate an awareness of the importance of integrity, ethics and professionalism in the execution of their profession.
Entry Requirements
- Seven (7) subjects at the CSEC General Proficiency Level with grades 1, 2 or Grade 3 as of June 1998, or at GCE ‘O’ Level with grades at A, B or C which must include Mathematics, Information Technology and English Language and other subjects chosen from: Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Integrated Science, Accounts, Principle of Business. At least three subjects must be passed with Grade A or Grade I, which must include mathematics and a science subject.
- Applicants matriculating in mathematics through UTech Academy who achieve grade A in mathematics, and satisfying the 3.5 GPA entry requirement, may also be afforded normal entry.
