ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN

We are seeking a highly experienced Electrical Technician to join our team.

Job Function

The Electrical Technician is responsible for the maintenance, installation, and repair of electrical systems.  The incumbent must be able to read electrical circuit diagrams and troubleshoot systems and will be responsible for the general electrical maintenance of buildings, equipment, and facilities. All activities must conform to the guidelines and standards set by the organization and must be in accordance with health and safety standards.

 Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Inspect on a routine basis electrical equipment, wiring, fixtures, and other components to ensure they remain functional and are up to established standard.
2. Identify any hazards or issues and make recommendations to remedy any situation that arises.
3. Diagnose system malfunctions and create a maintenance or repair plan to solve the problem.
4. Assist IT personnel with the installation, maintenance, and repairs of new technology, communication, security, and advertising equipment. Such as, but not limited to menu boards, telephone systems, network cables & switches, alarms systems and camera systems.
5. Evaluate and complete replacement repairs and installation of bulbs, lights, plugs, panels, breakers, isolators, and any other routine electrical maintenance for all Bertrich Limited Properties and/or properties owned by the Directors of Mario's Pizzeria Limited.
6. Assist the maintenance department when called upon, with respect to non-electrical requests, such as but not limited to, fixing of doors, cabinetry, carpentry, cleaning, inspection, drilling, hanging, and any other work that is deemed urgent and within your scope of knowledge and expertise.
7. Repair electrical systems, wiring, circuit breakers, equipment, and other components so that they remain at full functioning capacity and re-plaster walls and floors after installations and repairs when necessary.
8. Test systems with the necessary devices, for example a voltmeter, to ensure that systems remain safe and that components are compatible at all times.
9. Review blueprints to understand the placement of electrical wiring and understand the working of the equipment to provide the right service for installations and repairs.
10. Perform electrical work for new restaurants that the company acquires and for restaurants that are selected for renovations.
11. Supervise contractors when necessary to ensure that the company standards are adhered to.
12. Conduct monthly or quarterly requisitions for electrical material and supplies and determine the lifespan of electrical equipment and other electrical materials/ components to determine a plan for replacement or use.
13. Perform administrative functions such as, but not limited to, record-keeping of all maintenance and repair work conducted and any supplies ordered and used.
14. Ensure all routine maintenance work is completed on a regular schedule to reduce the risk of more complex issues arising, this will assist in reducing costs for electrical works.
15. Performs any other relevant duties assigned.

Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a similar role.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Certified Electrician with a license to operate.
• Licensed to operate a Heavy T vehicle.
