We are looking for an Electrical Engineer specialized in solar PV. We require experience in Project Design, Project Management, Commissioning of solar PV installations. A university degree in electrical, electronic or similar engineering is required.

FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Design and Execution of self-consumption solar photovoltaic installations.
  • Perform electrical calculations for the sizing of PV solar installations.
  • Prepare technical projects for photovoltaic installations.
  • Direct and supervise the execution of photovoltaic installations and their start-up.
  • Management and training of teams of installers.
  • Comply with quality standards in design documents.
  • Preparation of technical offers for self-consumption solar installations and solar farms.
  • Project management, coordination of tasks with subcontractors, deal with suppliers to get the best quotes and construction supervision.
  • Technical support to the Maintenance Department.
  • Meet delivery deadlines for tasks under their responsibility.
  • Guarantee correct technical execution.
  • Keep track of project deadlines.
  • Deal with the client, subcontractors and staff in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Prepare documentation (reports, calculations, plans).
  • Execute and review plans.
  • Coordinate work with engineering colleagues from other areas and overseas.
  • Knowledge of design tools: AUTOCAD, PVSYST, PVCASE, HELIOSCOPE, RATED POWER, ETC.
  • Knowledge of the legislation of the Electrical Sector in Jamaica and US.
  • Perform cost calculations and cost analysis.
  • Ability to move around the island and occasionally in other islands in the Caribbean or Latin America.
  • Preparation of budgets
  • Negotiate the purchase of certain materials for the work.
  • Reports on the situation and operation of facilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • We look for an organized individual with Leadership and dynamism.

 

EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Electrical engineering working on solar PV systems.
  • Technical specifications and reports
  • Electrical calculations: low voltage, medium voltage, grounding, grid code, cables sizes, breaker sizes, etc...
  • Design criteria
  • Cable routing plans
  • Executing and design of Single-line diagrams
  • Detailed equipment assembly drawing
  • Tools: EXCEL, AUTOCAD, PVSYST, PVCASE, CYMCAP, POWERFACTORY, HELIOSCOPE, RATED POWER, OTHERS, ETC.

 

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS AND ATRIBUTES:

 

  • Electrical Engineering.
  • Project Manager Professional or Certified Associate Project Management or similar.
  • Should have extensive self-management skills.
  • Advanced handling of the Office Suite.
  • Master in Renewable Energy is a plus.
  • Recommended to be fluent in Spanish
