The E&I Engineer will support the Maintenance department to plan, develop and coordinate the company’s Electrical and Instrumentation function with respect to corrective, preventative, predictive and outage maintenance.
Position Overview:
The E&I Engineer providing the services will support the Maintenance department to plan, develop and coordinate the company’s Electrical and Instrumentation function with respect to corrective, preventative, predictive and outage maintenance. Also, to develop and maintain electrical control systems and/or components to required specifications, focusing on economy, safety, reliability, quality, and sustainability.

Work Arrangement: Monday to Friday, 7am – 4pm (non-Shift)
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Establishing / monitoring the standards that apply to relevant discipline in order to ensure reliability, availability, maintainability, serviceability, and safety within CLIENT’s operations.
• Ensure that all designs and installations comply with relevant standards and codes.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge and understanding of relevant standards, codes and technologies that apply in the oil and gas industry.
• Recognize and define engineering issues and develop appropriate solutions.
• Play an active role in the development of the safety culture on the job making safety a natural part of all work performed and proactively ensure company HSE requirements are applied and met within the E&I department.
• Coordinates work of E&I Technicians with other Departments.
• Plan and implementation of Corrective, Preventive and Predictive Maintenance for high machine utilization and smooth operation.
• Prepare/review implement work packages, inspection and test plans, method statements, and execution plans.
• Plan individually or with Planning Team all electrical and instrumentation implementation activities to ensure the scopes of work are completed on schedule and on budget.
• Provide electrical & instrumentation maintenance support and expertise for E&I Technicians and operations team.
• Coordinate with other departments and resolve technical/process issues.
• Ensures that the tests, controls, inspections and other activities are carried out by the Subcontractor according to the schedule, Specification and approved Quality Plan in compliance with the required HSE standards.
• Supervise, controls and testing of all type of electrical sys, PCC/MCC, motor, panel, cable and DCS/PLC and process instruments — level, pressure, temp and flow transmitters, controllers, switches, indicators, T/C-RTD, (Rosemount/Fisher/Foxboro/FCI/Magnetrol) control valves, motorized valves ESD valves etc (Tyco/Fisher/Flow serve/SPA) etc.
• Report to Maintenance Team leader on status of daily activities and work progress.
• Recommend, design and implement projects for plant improvement.
• Assist in sourcing and requisitioning spare parts, tools, services and all related items for proper execution of inspection and repairs.
• Assist Team leader to identify maintenance and shutdown priorities in order to minimize downtime.
• Interface with other maintenance teams to coordinate work for corrective, preventive and/or predictive maintenance on the plant.
• Monthly review of completed work packages, including PM's and CM's.
• Conducts periodic performance appraisals for direct reports as well as recommend development plans to enhance performance of team.
• Acts as a technical advisor for solving complex Discipline technical problems especially DCS or SIS related.
• Issuing technical advice (solicited and / or unsolicited) to other departments regarding the process optimizations and / or improvements.
• Perform other related duties to support the achievement of the company’s goals and objectives.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
• BSc. Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering
• At least 10 years’ experience in Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls systems, 5 of which should be at an Engineering and Supervision level
• PLC programming skills for a variety of architectures is a strong plus
• High voltage and MCC maintenance
• Working knowledge of ISA standards and international codes especially Alarm Management.
• Good Analytical, organizational, problem solving and time management skills
• Good troubleshooting skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and demands.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Proven ability to create and sustain effective working relationships in a team environment.
• Ability to communicate and articulate ideas and information clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
• Strong technical skills with PC/Software/CMMS based systems & technical writing.
• Proficient in use of Maximo.
• Experience in Mark VIe engineering and troubleshooting
• High Voltage relay protection knowledge specifically with regards to Siemens and GE protection relays
• Generator Maintenance and troubleshooting
• High voltage Switchyard Maintenance
• Strong Controls background in Yokogawa DCS and Prosafe Safety systems
• Experience in Siemens PLC architecture, programming, and troubleshooting
