JOB VACANCY   

DRIVERS – MONTEGO BAY & OCHO RIOS DEPOT

Applications are invited for the position of Driver in the Montego Bay & Ocho Rios Depot:

Key Responsibilities

1. Safely operate a 6-ton truck to transport ice cream products to various locations across the island.
2. Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely arrival at each destination.
3. Return all damaged and spoiled goods to Depot upon return to base.
4. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations related to the transportation of perishable goods.
5. Maintain positive relationships with customers to promote satisfaction.
6. Load and unload ice cream products ensuring all items are handled properly to prevent damage.
7. Verify delivery orders against invoices and ensure accurate quantities are delivered.
8. Deliver all payments and paperwork to Depot Manager upon return to base.
9. Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.

Vehicle Maintenance

1. Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck to ensure it’s in good working order.
2. Report any mechanical issues or Maintenance needs to the Depot Manager promptly.

Qualification/Experience

• Minimum of three (3) CXC subjects including English Language, Mathematics/Accounts
• Minimum of five (5) years’ driving experience with a valid driver’s license.
• Experience working in a food manufacturing industry would be an asset.
• Proven experience as a truck driver, preferably with experience in refrigerated or perishable goods delivery.
• Excellent driving record with no major traffic violations.
• Strong knowledge of local roads and routes across the island.
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading.
