JOB SUMMARY The Driver will ensure the safety and comfort of their clients through providing their driving services.

JOB SUMMARY

The Driver will ensure the safety and comfort of their clients through providing their driving services. They’ll pick up anyone who requests as per instruction from the dispatcher, and possibly help the clients to load or unload packages as needed during each trip. Meanwhile they will listen carefully for traffic updates to keep their clients on schedule with getting to their destination in a timely manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Driving clients daily to their desired destinations
• Maintaining the vehicle safe and clean
• Map out driving routes ahead of time to determine the most expedient trip.
• Pick up clients from the place and at the time they’ve requested as per instructions from Transportation Coordinators.
• Loading, transporting, and delivering items to clients or businesses in a safe, timely manner.
• Listen to traffic and weather reports to stay up to date on road conditions
• Adjust the route to avoid heavy traffic or road constructions, as needed.
• Ensure the car seats are clean and comfortable for all riders
• Report any vehicle issues to Transportation & Vehicle maintenance Coordinators.
• Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules.
• Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record.
• Ensure all documents relating to deliveries are signed and dated appropriately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICTION AND EXPERIENCE

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven experience as a driver
• Valid driver's license
• Clean driving record
• Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws.
• Strong time management and customer service skills
• Attention to detail.

 ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Required

• Proven experience as a Driver
• A clean driving record.
• Minimum visual acuity of 20/50 (or corrected to 20/50)
• Knowledge of area roads and neighborhoods
• Ability to lift heavy packages.
• Availability to occasionally take weekend and night shifts.
• A polite and professional disposition
• Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. at rush hour)
• Outstanding organizational skills with focus on accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to quickly adapt to changes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
