The position involves operating a delivery truck, delivering goods, interfacing with customers, collecting payments, and ensuring goods' security and condition during transit.

Job Description:

As a Driver for our company, your main responsibility will be transporting goods from our warehouse to locations in a safe and timely manner. You will interact with customers during deliveries, ensure goods are securely transported and delivered in excellent condition, and collect payments when applicable. Additional duties normal to the role include running various errands on behalf of the company, including picking up documents, materials, or supplies as needed. As the Driver you will be operateing in a mixed warehouse industrial setting, it is crucial that you be able to follow all safety protocols to ensure safe, efficient and secure operations.

 Key Responsibilities:

- Safely and efficiently deliver invoiced goods to customers

- Represent the company with courtesy and professionalism

- Interact with customers, collect payments for goods sold, and accurately account for quantities received during deliveries.

- Ensure routine maintenance and safety checks are performed regularly.

- Conduct miscellaneous company related errands

- Adhere to all company procedures, safety protocols, and instructions to ensure smooth operations.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

- Minimum of 5 years' experience driving trucks. Note: typical delivery truck size is a 10 Tonne box truck and under.

- Secondary education with a minimum of 3 CSEC subjects.

- Possession of an Open General license

- A certificate in defensive driving would be considered a plus.

- Strong verbal communication skills and high sense of team ethic

- Demonstrated ability to work together with a sideman to efficiently execute delivery trips

- Ability to receive and carry out instructions accurately and efficiently.

- Effective route selection and time management skills.

- Safety-conscious, focused, and observant individual with a professional demeanor.

 Physical Demands:

- Ability to sit for extended periods of time

- Will occasionally be required to shift and maneuver full 55 gallon drums, kegs, boxes, cases etc 

- Required to wear safety shoes and other safety gear.

- Capable of lifting products weighing up to 50 lbs.

 

Work Environment:

- This position involves working in both a warehouse environment and various road conditions.
