Position Description: Driver Attendant
Reports To: Team Lead Logistics / Account Manager
Basic Salary Range: $25.00 to $28.00 per hour

A highly responsible and versatile individual. The primary role of this position is to provide safe and reliable transportation for our staff and assist with kitchen-related tasks. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the assigned vehicle. This is a dynamic role that requires excellent organizational skills, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Transportation Duties:
- Safely operate and drive the assigned vehicle to transport staff and food delivery to designated locations, ensuring adherence to traffic regulations and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle at all times.
- Plan and organize efficient routes to optimize time and fuel consumption.
- Load and offload containers with food in safe and secure manner adhering to all health and safety protocols (manual handling).
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transportation.
Kitchen Assistance Duties:
- Assist the kitchen staff with food preparation, serving, and cleaning duties as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and ensuring proper storage of supplies.
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
- Assist in inventory management, including sourcing and storing of items.
Vehicle Maintenance Duties:
- Perform routine inspections of the assigned vehicle, checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and general mechanical condition.
- Identify and report any vehicle maintenance or repair needs promptly.
- Ensure the vehicle is cleaned and fueled regularly.
- Maintain records of vehicle maintenance and repair activities.
Customer Service and Communication:
- Provide excellent customer service by maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor when interacting with staff and other individuals.
- Communicate effectively and promptly with the supervisor, kitchen staff, and other team members regarding any changes, delays, or incidents related to transportation or kitchen assistance.
Admin Duties
- All requests to external suppliers must be accompanied by a Purchase Order.
- All internal requests must be supported by a requisition/food order.
- Assist with closing stock monthly report where applicable.
- All delivery notes must be accompanied by its respective approvals.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
- 3 CXC passes
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience in driving light and heavy T vehicles
- Proven experience as a driver, preferably in a professional setting.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs
- Familiarity with kitchen operations and food safety regulations is an advantage.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects, as required.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays, if necessary.
