The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating the daily dispatch of deliveries, assignment of drivers, and efficiently utilizing the fleet. They act as the primary point of contact for drivers, monitor delivery progress, and address any issues that arise during transit.

- Assign delivery routes to drivers based on order priority, geography, and vehicle capacity.
- Dispatch trucks in a timely manner to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Provide drivers with necessary information, including route details, delivery instructions, and special requirements.
- Monitor driver check-ins, route progress, and resolve any in-transit issues.
- Adjust schedules and routes based on feedback from the Customer Care and Sales team.
- Use GPS tracking systems to monitor fleet movement and ensure compliance with delivery schedules.
- Track vehicle locations and delivery status, providing real-time updates as needed.
- Coordinate with Fleet department to ensure vehicle readiness.
- Act as the first point of contact for drivers to provide support and problem resolution during routes.
- Ensure drivers have accurate shipping documentation, including bills of lading and compliance paperwork.
- Maintain accurate and detailed logs of dispatched deliveries, including departure/arrival times, delays, and incidents.
- Provide daily and weekly reports to logistics and other teams.
- Analyze route data to optimize future deliveries.
- Ensure all communication is clear, timely, and professional to maintain customer satisfaction.
Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, Experience
· Associate’s degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field preferred.
· 2+ years of experience in dispatching, transportation, or logistics.
· Experience with fleet management systems and route optimization tools.
· Proficiency in dispatch software, GPS tracking, and route planning tools.
· Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
