Director of Sales & Marketing

Job Summary

Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Sales & Marketing, plays a pivotal role in orchestrating and executing department initiatives to promote Grenada as a premier tourism destination. The Director of Sales & Marketing oversees the engagement with sales and marketing service providers, coordinates advertising logistics, assesses the impact of marketing and sales activities, and ensures alignment with the organization's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drives the development and implementation of Sales and Marketing strategic programmes and Plans.
  • Reviews and approves the Annual Functional Workplans within remit.
  • Ensures planned events and activities are aligned to the strategic goals of the GTA and delivers the targeted value-add.
  • Ensures a consistent and aligned approach to destination marketing guaranteeing the effective delivery of targeted promotional initiatives.
  • Monitors the effective implementation of the GTA's sales and marketing activities, assessing their impact, measuring and reporting on ROI.
  • Ensures timely reports and data are produced regarding the success of sales & marketing initiatives.
  • Analyses the requirements of marketing opportunities. Researches and maintains knowledge of market trends, competition, and consumers. Analyses destination data and makes recommendations regarding a course of action.
  • Strategically plans and hosts trade events and regional promotions, and efficiently executes activations in markets (local, USA, UK, Caribbean).
  • Travels as needed to meet with partners, key industry contacts, etc. attends local events and designated trade or media events.
  • Prepares reports from business meetings attended outside of Grenada and follows up on timely delivery of required actions.
  • Completes annual budget analysis & charts.
  • Monitors the activity and output of Sales & Marketing Team to proactively manage their performance, and impact on GTA's goals
  • Supports the Sales & Marketing Team with coaching and training initiatives to drive results.

Position Requirements and Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales or a related field.
  • Ten years’ managerial experience in marketing and/or sales.
  • Ten years’ experience in a similar role working with a cross-functional team.
  • Proven ability to produce results.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a preference for achieving goals and creating efficiencies.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and adhere to deadlines.
  • An open mind to be able to adapt to timely strategic changes.
  • Boundless creative ideas and energy.
  • Experience working in the tourism industry is an asset.
  • Flexible availability to work during the peak hospitality seasons.
