The Director of Campus Services plan, develop, manage, and oversee the administration of the College’s building facilities, maintenance, and related services to provide the College community with quality infrastructure that meets the needs of end needs and industry standards.
This position also provides leadership, general direction, and administration of campus transport services, security, custodian, and food services. The Director will organize, direct and oversee the execution of a preventative maintenance program for all building structures, electrical, mechanical and emergency systems. He/she will also lead relevant teams in conducting renovation works and minor construction projects efficiently and cost-effectively to facilitate the achievement of the College’s objectives.
The position assumes supervisory responsibility of the Business Service Coordinators on the offsite campuses to ensure the effective delivery of services under his or her purview. The Director develops processes and ensures that those processes result in efficient and cost-effective operations. The director must have strong business, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. The director must have a solid understanding of facilities management, financial management, risk management, and regulatory compliance. The nature of the position requires frequent on-site presence and availability at any time of the day on weekdays and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish the building management framework, including policies and standards for the use of space, construction, and environmental comfort; assessment of building and property needs; capital plans and optimization of space and maintenance, and make recommendations to ensure that the College makes sound investment decisions and efficiently manages its real estate portfolio and facilities.
- Administers over all campus locations and operations to ensure maintenance of facilities and provision of campus services
- Supervises the Business Service Coordinators/Campus Leaders to ensure the planning, coordination and supervision of all programs and services of Campus Services on all campus locations:indoor and outdoor maintenance (housekeeping, cafeteria, security, parking);
- public services (rentals);
- professional services (engineering, architecture, design and layout, accounting, , accessibility)
- Develops and implement facilities service and usage standards in accordance with industry standards and best practices; transmit that information to the College community, and ensure their compliance
- Works with the internal and external resource teams, leading all construction and renovation projects, from feasibility studies to completion of projects. Establish the required monitoring mechanisms to ensure the success of projects and compliance with timelines and approved budgets.
Requirements:
- A Master’s degree in any of the following: civil, electrical, mechanical, structural engineering or construction management
- At least eight (8) to ten (10) years of experience in managing facilities maintenance projects
- Project management professional certification (PMP)
- Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience overseeing large teams
- Certification in facilities management will be an asset
- An ability to understand and interpret structural and architectural drawings;
- Knowledge and practice of HSE
- A high degree of proficiency in MS Project, Word and Excel
- A strong focus on quality
Salary Range: $18,500-23,000
