The Cybersecurity Analyst shall be responsible for protecting the company’s digital assets by identifying, mitigating, and responding to cyber threats and vulnerabilities.

PURPOSE OF JOB

The Cybersecurity Analyst shall be responsible for protecting the company’s digital assets by identifying, mitigating, and responding to cyber threats and vulnerabilities. This role involves monitoring network traffic, analyzing security alerts, investigating incidents, and implementing solutions to safeguard the company’s information systems. The Cybersecurity Analyst shall work closely with cross-functional teams to enforce security policies, ensure compliance with industry standards, and enhance the overall security posture. The primary objective shall be to prevent, detect, and respond to cyber incidents, ensuring business continuity and data integrity in an ever-evolving threat landscape.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • To monitor and analyze security alerts to determine their impact and severity on organizational assets.
  • To investigate security breaches and incidents, perform root cause analysis, and perform containment, eradication and recovery procedures.
  • To assist with vulnerability assessment and penetration testing (VAPT) to identify and resolve security weaknesses on the organization’s systems, networks and applications.
  • To assist with developing and delivering cybersecurity awareness training to educate employees on identifying and reporting cybersecurity-related threats.
  • To assist with ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards and internal security policies
  • To act as a liaison among stakeholders to ensure new cybersecurity solution implementation is done in accordance with company policy and industry best practice.
  • To support the planning, design and implementation of cybersecurity projects and initiatives to improve security posture, controls and capabilities of the organization.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Undergraduate degree in Information Technology or Cybersecurity from a recognized institution.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+ and others from TryHackMe, Hack The Box, Security Blue Team, EC-Council, TCM Security Academy will be considered an asset.
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience in an ICT and/or Cybersecurity environment.
  • Experience in ethical hacking, penetration testing, incident response and/or security operations will be an asset.
  • Experience working with firewalls, SIEM, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions will be an asset.
