Job Summary: 
Ensure compliance with Trinidad & Tobago's Customs & Excise Laws. Provide logistics and customs documentation for cargo clearance. Coordinate daily with stakeholders, including statutory agencies, clients, shippers, suppliers, consignees, terminals, transporters, and internal teams. Update systems and trackers daily. Maintain high HSSEQ standards for site operations. Identify and report potential risks and solutions for continuous improvement.
 

  1. Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate and ensure timely documentation or declarations are certified and endorsed by Customs or relevant Authorities timely.
  • Perform documentation verification and take corrective action and communicate with stakeholders where necessary timely.
  • Maintain documentation control as per local Laws, safety standards and company procedures and policy.
  • Prepare or obtain required payments and releases for / from various stakeholders to ensure cargo can be cleared and delivered timely.
  • Provide cargo clearance for inward and outward cargo timely to meet operations discharging & loading of vessels in compliance with CLIENT
  • Provide support to Customs and Logistics Team members where necessary or as assigned.
  • Maintain and file all relevant complete documentation package hard and soft copies as per local laws and company procedure and policy.
  • Ensure Customs Invoices are received on a weekly basis, keep record on register and verify Customs Invoices, statements, query and approve where applicable.
  • Ensure all vendors commercial invoices and safety data sheets for efficient import / toxic license applications in Guyana or Trinidad & Tobago as applicable.
  • Conducting follow ups with vendors and their respective brokers with regards to documentation to complete customs clearance of backloaded cargo within 48 hours of discharge.
  • Coordinating with Logistics and Operations Team to ensure the relevant Port labour/equipment resources in accordance with the client’s logistics planning and vessel schedule.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and standards related to transportation & logistics.
  • Utilization of systems to create cargo manifests, receiving inbound cargo and closing re-delivery tickets.
  • Monitoring & recording relevant data related to services, updating database collaborating with Logistics and Finance Teams ensuring accurate invoicing.
  • Monitoring ALL system to ensure cargo packages are accurately populated, marked as planned, approved, and closed prior to delivery to the base.
  • Working daily with vendors to achieve 100% accuracy for all cargo packages and commercial invoices are updated in systems .

Safety Performance:

  • Always ensure safe-working practices.
  • Empowered to “stop the job” if an action is considered unsafe and report to line supervisor.
  • Ensure you follow HSSEQ procedures and processes.
  • Ensure you understand Mellora and input observations when necessary.

Work Instructions / Procedures:

  • Comply with all and any relevant company work instructions and procedures.
  • Suggest any improvements to improve service delivery and amend work instructions.

Performance Measure

  • Adherence to project timelines and milestones.
  • Adherence to procedures.
  • Adherence to roles and responsibilities.
  • Completion of trackers in a timely manner.
