Credit Analyst

 

The Credit Analyst is responsible for monitoring the status of customers' account and take the necessary steps to engage and persuade the customer to make timely settlement of their outstanding balances, with great focus placed on ensuring that Credit customers stay within the agreed payments terms.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the follow-up, reconciliation and collection of all customers account balance in the assigned portfolio.
  • Assist in the posting of cheques received by the department to the customer’s account.
  • Advise customers within assigned portfolio if any “Dishonoured cheque” have been received and take the necessary actions on the accounts.
  • Make recommendations to the Team Lead regarding any account that is deemed as bad debt.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders regarding the status of the assigned portfolio.
  • Generate customer statement on a monthly basis and dispatch to customers via Trade Representatives, mail or email.
  • Ensure that all payments to customers’ accounts are correctly applied by the end of each month.
  • Attend credit meetings as scheduled and provide the necessary update on accounts with the assigned portfolio.

 

The successful candidate should have:

 

  • CAT Designation or Diploma in Accounting or equivalent.
  • Two years’ experience in accounting particularly collections/credit
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication/presentation skills.
  • Excellent time-management skills
