The successful candidate will be required to relocate to Bermuda, all relocation costs will be covered by the client.

The company specializes in house moves, site deliveries, heavy equipment transportation, crane truck operations, telescopic forklift work, and more, and continues to expand its operations.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual seeking to relocate to Bermuda and contribute to the success and growth of a reputable business in the industry.

The role involves safely and efficiently operating a crane truck for the transport and delivery of materials, equipment, or goods, while ensuring compliance with safety standards, legal requirements, and organizational policies.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Crane Truck Operations
  • Safely operate a crane truck to load, transport, and unload materials.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and crane equipment to ensure vehicle is in optimal condition.
  • Maneuver the crane to lift, position, and place materials as required by job specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks and report any equipment defects or issues to management.
  • Operates boom cranes with standard boom lengths and angles for loads well within the lifting capacity of the cranes
  • Loads and unloads crates, lumber, machinery, roofing materials or equipment at worksites or outdoor storage areas
  • Observes load hookup and determines safety of load
  • Manipulates or depresses crane controls, such as pedals, levers, and buttons, to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to written, verbal, or signal instructions
  1. Compliance and Safety
  • Adhere to local and national transportation and safety regulations.
  • Follow site-specific safety protocols when operating the crane truck.
  • Ensure all lifting operations comply with load limits and crane capacities.
  • Maintain accurate logs and documentation, including inspection reports and delivery records.
  • Complies with OSHA standards, safety guidelines, and DOT
  • Maintain clean and organized vehicles
  • Operates crane wearing a hard hat at all times
  • Inspects crane for defective parts and notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions
  1. Coordination and Communication
  • Work closely with site managers, supervisors, and other personnel to execute job tasks efficiently.
  • Provide clear communication signals to guide crane movements during operations.
  • Respond promptly to instructions and adapt to changes in site or delivery plans.
  1. Material Handling and Delivery
  • Secure loads effectively to prevent damage or shifting during transport.
  • Deliver materials to designated sites within scheduled timeframes.
  • Assist with manual handling tasks as needed
  • Shall be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of any piece of equipment in the field of his/her responsibility

Qualifications & experience:

  • Valid Heavy Truck Driver’s License (Class B CDL) (Essential)
  • Certification in crane operations (e.g., National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators [NCCCO] or equivalent regional certification) (Essential).
  • Knowledge of load dynamics, rigging, and lifting techniques (Essential).
  • First Aid and CPR certification (preferred).

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and risk management.
  • Proficient in operating and maintaining crane truck equipment.
  • Ability to interpret load charts and lifting plans.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to handle demanding tasks.
  • Problem-solving skills and adaptability.
  • Ability to pass pre-hire physical and pre-hire drug screening
